Embarking on the Sidon of the Zora quest line in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most memorable journeys in the game. Players must travel to the sludge-covered region of Zora's Domain to help Prince Sidon restore his home to its former glory. Navigating the ancient ruins, unique puzzles, and skyward challenges requires preparation and a strong strategy.

Reaching Zora's Domain and Mipha Court

Your journey begins by heading toward Lanayru, where you will immediately notice a strange, dark sludge polluting the waters. Upon arriving at Zora's Domain, you will meet Sidon's fiancé, Yona, who directs you up the mountain. Link must travel to Mipha's Court atop Ploymus Mountain to finally reunite with Prince Sidon.

Before you can proceed deep into the main questline, Yona will offer to repair your legendary Zora Armor. This crucial piece of equipment requires an Ancient Arowana fish, which can be found swimming near the local shrines. Once obtained, the armor unlocks the vital ability to swim up massive waterfalls instantly.

Solving the Clues to the Sky

After speaking with Sidon, your next primary objective involves deciphering a cryptic riddle provided by the Zora historian Jiahto. The puzzle revolves around finding the Land of the Sky Fish and uncovering a hidden mark. Players must look up at the floating islands to spot a unique structure shaped like a fish.

Using your newly repaired armor, you can shoot up the waterfall trailing down from this floating island. Once on the island, stand at the highest point and look around to find a formation of floating rocks that perfectly align into a teardrop shape. Shooting an arrow attached to a King's Scale through this target will trigger the next major event.

Ascending Wellspring Island

With the riddle solved, a massive beam of light will reveal an underwater path leading into the sky. You will join forces with Sidon to navigate Wellspring Island, a spectacular low-gravity zone filled with floating water bubbles. Link must use these floating bubbles to launch himself across giant gaps between broken platforms.

The low-gravity environment drastically alters movement, allowing you to jump incredibly high and glide much further than normal. You will face several tough Zonai constructs along the way that guard the path ahead. Defeating these automated threats requires clever use of your bow and elemental combinations before reaching the summit.

Conquering the Water Temple

Reaching the end of the sky path reveals the grand Water Temple, which is covered in thick layers of sludge. The main goal of this dungeon is to operate four distinct water wheels to clear the blockage. You will need to make constant use of Sidon's unique water shield ability to activate the machinery and protect Link.

Each wheel requires a small puzzle solution, involving moving blocks, floating bubbles, and generating electricity. After all four devices are running smoothly, the central sludge will disappear, bringing out the final boss. Defeating this nimble creature yields a brand new Heart Container and unlocks a permanent companion ability.
